The Tourist Office offers your clients visiting Salobreña, a programme of easy and well-established guided tours. Theses are conducted by local multilingual guides fully trained by our education department and who are able to satisfy the high demand that the tourist industry is experiencing here.

A request by fax or e-mail is sufficient for us to arrange a unique tour for your clients which is fully approved by our Tourist Office.

Guided tours are available in Spanish, English, French, German and must be booked in advance. A lot of people of all ages and backgrounds were catered for. Four exciting tours are available: The historical tour through an andalusian white village by the sea; the agricultural tour to enjoy the countryside and subtropical valley fields and exotic fruits; a great guided cycling tour, and a guided path alongside the sea, close to coves, cliffs and watchtowers, discovering the mediterranean flora.

Historical Tour Through:
The Old Town


This tour offers an itinerary designed for clients of all ages to enjoy a walk through the old town of Salobreña, see the Arab castle, monuments, wiewpoints, craftsmanship, etc...

Information includes the geological formation of Salobreña's Valley and plain, Roman settlements and their pottery, ceramic industries, Salobreña and the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada and the capture of Salobreña by the Kingdom of Castille. The tour begins in Goya Square, by the Salobreña Tourist Office and the historical route includes a visit to the Loma, Brocal and Albaycín areas of the Town, the Arab Castle (13th century), Local History Museum, Mudejar Church of the Rosary (16th century), Craft Centre and The Paseo de la Flores.

Agricultural Tour Through.
Subtropical Plantations.


The agriculture of subtropical fruits which, in certain cases is unique in Europe is a highly interesting topic and this tour is in high demand from both national and European visitors.

The agricultural tour through subtropical fruit plantations, provides the opportunity to learn about the climate, geological formation of the valley and to visit a plantation of sugar cane, avocado pears, custard apples and mangoes (a coach drops off close by). To conclude, there is a chance to taste seasonal tropical fruits and juices.

The formation of the fertile plain, the history of the age-old sugar cane plantations in existence since the 12th century; the harvesting and production of subtropical fruits such as the custard apple, avocado, mango, papaya, guava and banana, the high level of technology applied to the new agriculture of "Hidroponics" artificial pollinitation, the Regulatory Board of the Chirimoya ... These are some of the subjects covered during the tour.

Natural Salobreña, a unique experience.
Cycling Tour through the Lower fertile plain and visit to a fish-farm.


Guided Cycling tour through local fields in a mountain bike excursion through the lower fertile plain with its sugar cane plantations, exotic fruit trees and a visit to a fish-farm and a farmhouse with an Andalusian garden.

A different type of tour which is both easy and enjoyable. On arrival, the client collects his/ her mountain bike and after a brief introduction, The Tour "on wheels" begins. The bike ride is through a rural area of plantations of sugar cane, avocado, mango and custard apple trees and the route is both easy and totally flat. We visit a viewpoint in la Caleta, a sea-bass and guilthead fish-farm and a farmhouse where plants such as grapefruit, guava and banana are grown.

At the end of the tour there is an opportunity to taste tropical fruit juices and seasonal exotic fruits in the local Fountain Park.

Mediterranean Coastal Path Tour
Hiking itinerary.


Mediterranean coastal path for hikers is of minimum difficulty and for all age´groups. This is a guided tour along the beaches and coves which border the Mediterranean between Salobreña and Almuñecar and is of 3 ½ hours duration.

Groups begin the tour at the Salobreña Tourist Office in the centre of the town. It is important to wear appropriate footwear and bring a supply of water. The route is linear and follows the Gr 92 section (hiking reference), and part of the Roman road which connected Malaka to Carthage. Walking via Salobreña Gorge, the cliffs are reached where the the path is taken which leads along the beaches and coves. Birds, flowers, shrubs and viewpoints overlooking the sea are our companions along the way. Numerous watchtowers dating from the 13th, 16th, 17th and18th centuries are dotted along the route and bear witness to the time when the coastline lived "on constant alert." Each watchtower has its individual features, legends an history which the accompanying tour guide will explain. The route ends at Pozuelo beach where the group meets up with the coach.
